Rednecks

Redneck “a pejorative and refers to a Stereotype of usually white Caucasian people of lower socio-economic status in the United States and Canada. The term was originated by outsiders as a typical low-educated farmer inhabiting the Southern United States, it has since spread to the Ozarks, the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains and is now widespread throughout North America.” That is the Wikipedia Definition of Redneck
Everyone makes fun of them, they even make fun of themselves. Everyone has seen pics and jokes here on the web, or heard them from a comedian/ friend. As a redneck its self-deprecation, but when anyone else makes a joke about them its like they are looking down on these people because of there lifestyle or because they are the lowest class before being homeless. I don’t think people understand the intelligence these people actually have. Sure the pics of shit they have built are always funny, but I’ll bet you would have never thought of it. Like a swamp bike, Redneck Harley, root cellar, Mansion, Taxi, Houseboat, and a limo. If Rednecks were dumb and lazy like most believe, these things would not exist.
I guess what I’m getting at here is that these people make due with what they have. I have a friend back in Michigan, it’s hard to find good work there especially if you haven’t furthered your education past high school. So he works here and there doing odd jobs, he’s never been fired from a job before he’s a great worker, they just run out of stuff to do. Most jobs are only summer jobs or only winter jobs. So he has to be good with money and think outside the box ALLOT when things need fixed. I remember his truck had some problem with it that the body needed taken off. Now a “normal” person would just take it to a shop and have them fix it but that’s not something he can afford, wich means he definetly dosnt have a lift himself to use. He didn’t give it but 5 seconds of thought he started undoing all the bolts and preparing it for the body to be removed. I couldn’t think what he was doing. I mean maybe he was gona call some more friends over and we would all lift it together (team work is another good quality of rednecks, they also understand each others ideas better than most). I asked him what his plans were and he just said that he would get it by himself. Just like he said as soon as the truck was ready he went over by the garage fired up his father in law’s tractor attached the body of the truck carefully and lifted it off himself.
INGENUITY. That’s my one word for the so called Redneck. One could only imagine what clever devise a Redneck could make with the resources of someone in a higher class!
